How long have you worked for Urban Outfitters?
I've worked for Urban for just about three years. Lets just say...time goes by fast when you're having fun !
What brought you to LA?
I came to LA to play and share my love for music. I am currently involved in 3 music projects: From the Mind Lights, A Sound Silhouette and Acrylic Zoo. These bands / projects cover a wide range of genre's and help me stay musically balanced. From the Mind Lights is by far my most expressive project, it allows me to consolidate all my art into one working title. It involves projected visual art, animation, motion graphics, video, painting, drawing and overall sound design.
What inspires you?
I am mostly inspired by all my friends, but I am also inspired by humble artists that are having fun doing what they love.
Here is our Q+A with Olivia Lopez of Lust for Life and Kelsi Smith of Two Point Oh! LA:
1520: What made you want to start your own blog, Lust for Life? Olivia Lopez: I started my blog when I started modeling look books for LA-based designers when I was 14. It evolved from a phase where I had just initiated a life-long love affair for vintage everything, music festivals and travel culture. Its early roots were intended as a creative outlet and photo share for my group of friends, but pretty soon I found myself neck-deep in fashion when I received an SLR for my 16th birthday.
1520: What three pieces from your closet could you not live without? OL: My vintage Givenchy gold collar, Chanel matryoshka doll and distressed Levi's cutoffs.
1520: What trends are you looking most forward to for spring? OL: Pastel color blocking, rose wreath headwear, the return of macrame maxi's and bright cut outs.
1520: What caused you to start your own fashion blogging network, Two Point Oh! LA? Kelsi Smith: I'd been blogging for awhile, attending Los Angeles Fashion Week and not really feeling like I was a part of anything, being a blogger can be quite insular - you're your own team - the photographer, writer, designer, publicist, it's easy to feel alienated. I was feeling just that in February 2010 and decided to throw a party for my fellow bloggers. I invited 25 people, and 60 showed up. Two Point Oh! LA was born.
1520: What is your favorite piece of clothing that you own? KS: Ooh. Does it have to still fit me? Hah! I have a few items that I'll always cherish (regardless if they still fit or not) but my favourite is probably a crepe dress from Topshop, covered in poppies that I bought when I was still in college (not to date me...but about a decade ago) it's the perfect dress for any occasion and the strangest thing is it appears to have grown with me. It's a UK8 (US4) and well, let's just say I'm not a US4 anymore ;)
1520: Who are you currently listening to on your iPod? KS: I'm obsessed with Lana Del Rey. I think it's a certain kind of girl that enjoys her music. A little reckless, a lot romantic, a smidge melancholy.

Yard Sale hosted by Lust for Life + Two Point Oh! LA
Sunday, January 29th 11am - 4pm
The blog "Lust for Life" began as a sartorial spreadsheet for then 14-year old Los Angeles muse Olivia Lopez. Inspired by the musical likings of Iggy Pop, travel culture and high street fashion, Lust for Life peeks a glimpse into the Southern Californian's daily musings, road trips across the U.S., and personal outfit posts. Lopez's signature style is recognized everywhere from the streets of San Francisco to New York, for combining the versatility of high end, designer pieces with on-trend one of a kind vintage.
Kelsi Smith is a Brit by nature and Los Angelian by design who wears many hats both figuratively and literally. She runs Dedicated Follower of Fashion, an OG blog in the L.A. fashion blog community, she operates a PR agency "Stylesmith," produces Fash Mobs (a pop up fashion extravaganza), is the Director and Co-Founder of the Los Angeles Fashion Council and President of Two Point Oh! LA - the L.A. organization for fashion, style and beauty bloggers. She's also a prolific Twitterer, in other words, she's busy.
